Miller Spends Big Bucks On Repeal Property Tax Effort

Advance America's Eric Miller, turning his attention away from banning gay marriage for the moment, is taking advantage of the anger over property taxes to push another constitutional amendment--this one to abolish property taxes. Today, he takes out a full-page ad in the Star promoting several tax rallies he has planned around the state during the next month. He also lists those legislators on the side of repealing property taxes along side those who oppose repealing the propert tax. The list of 60 legislators in favor of the repeal includes includes 50 Republican lawmakers and 10 Democratic lawmakers. Sen Richard Young, a Democratic candidate for governor, is among those 10 Democrats. Among the 90 lawmakers opposing a repeal of the property tax are House Republican Leader Brian Bosma and Senate President Pro Tempore David Long, along with House Speaker Pat Bauer.

If you visit the website Miller has set up to promote the property tax repeal effort, you will see his name and picture prominently displayed, which is not at all appropriate for a supposed not-for-profit organization. There has been some speculation the 2004 losing GOP candidate for governor might take another crack at Gov. Mitch Daniels in next year's GOP primary. His full page-ad urges people to contact Gov. Daniels' office because he has not publicly declared his support for repealing the taxes, although the ad does note that Daniels is "open" to the idea. WXNT's Abdul Hakim Shabazz plans to interview Miller live on his radio show "Abdul in the Morning" tomorrow morning between 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. This will be Miller's first appearance on Abdul's show.

If it keeps him less enthralled with SJR7, I don't really give a damn what the cause is.

I saw the full-page ad in the paper today. He wasted his money on anyone with less than perfect eyes--the pictures and names were so small it gave me one of those dreaded squint headaches.

At what point does his tax-exempt status become laughable?

It is all about Eric all the time. I personally believe that the people of Indiana will reject this self-serving politician masquerading as a cross between a used car salesman and a undertaker. BTW Eric, ..Bosma called for the repeal of property taxes at the last House Republican press conference. Oh...don't bother Eric Miller with the facts because that would get in the way of you throwing your fellow conservatives under the bus.

Eric Miller has given money in the past to Fred Phelps church and I know this to be factual.

Problem is all Indiana residents are ticked about property taxes. This only gives Mr. Miller an opportunity to get more troops in his camp along with their funding to fight with him on SJR7 another day which WILL come again. Property taxes today, SJR7 another day. Lets hope he runs for governor and takes votes from our man mitch so Schellinger can win.
