Senator Dan Coats, Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry Deny Internet Claim Linking Them To KKK

Several U.S. Senators, including Indiana's Dan Coats (R) and several U.S. mayors, including Fort Wayne's Tom Henry (D), have been accused of being members of the Ku Klux Klan. The hacktivist group, Anonymous, had promised to expose the names of prominent Americans it claims belong to the racist organization and today it posted their names on the Internet. Sen. Dan Coats and Mayor Tom Henry quickly took to their Twitter accounts to deny the allegation. Sen. Coats called the accusation "baseless Internet garbage" and stated he "deplore[s] all forms of racial discrimination.

Mayor Tom Henry, who is locked in a tight re-election race against Mitch Harper, denounced the claim as "totally false and irresponsible." He added, "Our City celebrates and appreciates diversity and acceptance . . . Racism has no place in our society and my life."

Others accused of being members of the KKK included Texas Sen. John Cornyn (R), North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis (R) and Georgia Sen. Johnny Isakson (R). Other mayors on the list included Knoxville's Mayor Madeline Rogero, Lexington Mayor Jim Gray, who is openly gay, Norfolk's Mayor Paul Fraim and Ocala's Mayor Kent Guinn. All are denying any affiliation with the KKK.

I have a hard time believing Lexington Mayor Jim Gray has anything to do with the KKK. Not bloody likely. Gay people and the KKK don't mix. No crossover at all. Period. The KKK hate and oppress gay people.

Anonymous denied releasing the names. They have stated that their release will be on the 5th. This was done by a different organization, calling themselves 'Amped Attacks'. I think the media has just lazily lumps everyone who exposes information via hacking as Anonymous.
